Anonymous Comments Enabled

I got an email today which made me aware that anonymous comments were disabled. This explains why people have been sending me emails about things that would usually be written as comments. After a hard wrestle with Community Server I finally figured out why anonymous comments were disallowed. First I had to enable anonymous posting for the site. I thought this setting would allow anyone to post, but it turned out that it only applied to comments and forum posts. This enabled me to enable anonymous comments for the blog in the Advanced Post Settings control. I have no idea why Telligent have made the configuration so complex - a simple checkbox would have been sufficient.

I'll probably have to introduce some kind of CAPTCHA verification to keep the spambots at bay. I really like Johannes' math challenges. If someone knows of a similar extension for Community Server, please let me know.

Write some comments, let me know what you think of this blog.
