Switched!

After suffering from serious mac-envy for some time, I decided it was time to switch from Windows to a real Mac. Yesterday my brand new Apple MacBook Pro arrived and I've been spending the last few hours moving and installing stuff. Just like Scott, I'm trying to switch to native Mac apps rather than running the good old Windows apps in Parallels or VMWare Fusion - this blog post is written using ecto rather than Windows Live Writer. So far my new life as a Mac user feels good, although I'm having a bit of trouble geting used to using a different keyboard layout and different shortcuts. Tips on cool apps I should check out are more than welcome.

Congratulations and welcome! For some cool apps, check out http://blog.pmarca.com/2007/06/the_ideal_os_x_.html.

Also, you may want to check http://db.tidbits.com/article/9090 regarding some sleep issues.

If you want to sync with Google Calendar, take a look at Spanning Sync (note that they currently seem to store your credentials server-side).

Oh, do try the two-finger trackpad scrolling technique :-)
